Tell us about yourself.

My name is Litda. I went by Faitsu for maybe more than a decade online. I'm definitely a "Tina Turnpike," yahoo groups era fujoshi even if I was maybe 12 years old at the time and lying about my age. I grew up in early anime fandom and watched the US version of Kamen Rider live on TV. I was on Livejournal until it went weird and was bought out. Now I'm on Dreamwidth and I am happier and more fulfilled typing and writing to no one.

 

Grew up without Cable and developed super social skills to trade for anime and fansubs VHS. I like Kamen Rider a lot.

I'm in my 30s. Due to the nature of the internet I don't want to put down the exact date.

I do/did a lot of cosplay. I am getting back into it in 2024. I do have a backlog where I can cosplay without making new purchases.

I still make comics and zines and have since I have been sixteen. 

Oh, and I have gone to Japan and Comicket! I don't know when I will go back for a visit. Now is kind of a bad time for Japan (Earthquake) but I would like to for Christmas shopping! I started to re-study Japanese July/August of 2023.

The biggest take away I would want people to know is that I am in my 30s, I like cosplay, making animation, comics and zines like it's still early internet Anime Turnpike, Geocities fansites and more in 2024.

I hope you're able to make it to Comicket again some day! What was it like when you went before? It seems like such a cool, big convention, I have no idea what to imagine.

I liked going, I did the "stay in Akihabara and go to comicket" combo. I would suggest going for one day and seeing if you want to go another. Akihabara has changed since covid.

Comicket is shopping for your Fandom in the best artist alley. LOL!

If you go to comicket, I would suggest going during winter, I went during summer and people do faint. Bring a tiny chair to sit in line.

Bring money and comfortable shoes is obvious. It wasn't crowded when I went but it will probably be more crowded now. Also, you don't need the giant comicket book but I bought it out of anxiety.

It's so cool you've been to Comicket! I'd like to go there someday too. I'm getting back into re-studying Japanese also.

Yeah, it was a life goal of mine and I just knocked it right out. My advice is don't tell anyone and go before someone (probably a hater) talks you out of it. Comicket is like a BIG artist alley for fandom as I said in another reply. I got some freebies too. A guy Berserk fan gave me nail deco for Band of the Hawk. I suggest hitting your grails first, things do sell out. I never went to "the boy's side" though.

I'm glad I went because the internet wasn't that big yet and when I did Akihabara was starting to change. I went so I got to experience the old Akihabara too, a lot of shops closed down.

Go in winter! And bring a tiny travel chair. You will be waiting in line before you get in! Just watch videos online and map out where you want to go.

If I were to go again, I would probably go again but I would also buy fabric and go thrifting for Showa era home goods. And bring only walkable shoes!

I don't know how "good" I'm getting in Japanese. I didn't know Japanese when I traveled there before!
