Snowflake Challenge #7
In your own space, create a list of at least three things you'd love to receive, something you've wanted but were afraid to ask for - a wishlist of sorts.
I feel like I fulfill my own needs half the time so I don’t ask others, fanart, comics, zines, I just do everything myself. 🤣 I just come from that kind of family. This was the hardest list to write.
- I think I want people to be more gentle with me. I think I get thrown around as the person who has to hold it all together all the time or the person who deals with challenges/really well, but I don’t. The last time I asked for someone to be nicer to me, she got me laid off from my job. 🤣 (It’s okay, she got her karma after apparently.) It’s a wild thing to ask for, but when you get older people just expect you to be the scapegoat or workhorse for everything.
- If you’re not subscribed, subscribe to my Youtube channel. It’s been a goal of mine to hit 1000 this year.
- If you are at a Toronto zine event or TCAF, swap zines with me. I want to swap zines again!!
Snowflake Challenge #8
In your own space, write a promo, manifesto or primer for a beloved character, relationship or fandom.
I love Astro Fighter Sunred. I try to re-watch it often. It’s just a really simple parody of Sentai. But as I get older, I relate more to Vamp but sometimes I relate to Kayoko. It’s basically Astro Fighter Sunred is too strong and he beats up all the evil organization Florshiem too easily to the point he doesn’t show up in anything but his helmet and he smokes constantly. I recommend it constantly.

Snowflake Challenge #9
In your own space, create a fanwork.

I drew this in a rush because I didn't want to write fanfiction.
Challenge #10
In your own space, talk about one of your fandom firsts. This could be your first fandom, your first fandom friend, the first fanwork you created, the first fanwork you interacted with... The options are endless!
The first fandom I was ever in was the Slayer's fandom and it was awful because everyone was IRL friends and dating each other.
Eventually I left and was embraced by the yaoi fandom and yaoi Yahoo groups. Everyone was WAYYYYYYY older than me (like 30, 40, 50) and at the time I was MAYBE 14? And I was really loved and felt special, not matter how cliquey and exclusionary that first fandom was I was WAYYYYYYY happier being embraced by the yaoi/BL fandom of 1990s-2010s. I will always love the older fujos that took me in. I don't know who i would be if that first experience tainted my entry into fandom.
